Beginners’ running group starting Monday 10 January 2011

Always fancied running and don’t know where to start? Don’t worry, help is at hand! Huntingdon’s running club is organising an eight week running course. The course is for complete beginners or those returning to running after a spell away. Dependent on current fitness levels, you will be taken through a progressive training plan, beginning with a combination of walking and jogging, building up to 30 minutes non-stop jogging. In addition to the Monday evening runs you will be expected to run outside of the group in order to improve. This is a supportive and friendly group of runners, many of whom started with the group as beginners.

There is an £20 fee for the course to cover membership of the running club, training support materials and coaching.

If you fancy a challenge in 2011, please email Claire at monday@brjroadrunners.org.uk. Places are limited and we will need to discuss your fitness levels prior to commencing the course.

BRJ Road Running Club has been running in Huntingdon since 1988 and meets on the following nights:

·         Monday – beginners and intermediate runners, steady run

·         Tuesday – intermediate and advanced runners, runners choose whether to take part in a speed session or to go on a steady run
